Time saving tips that make you look good
We’ve all been there. You hit snooze one too many times and now you’re running late for work. We all have shortcuts that help us when time is tight. Whether it’s that go-to navy blazer you can throw on in a jiffy, the breakfast bar that will get you through your first meeting, or the back street that nobody takes where you can make up a few minutes. These unbeaten paths are great in a pinch, but seldom we have the same arrangements for our kitchens. Sure there’s that frozen pizza in your freezer, but that’s not a time saver, that’s just laziness. Follow these tips and not only will you always look under control, but you’ll look good while doing it.
You should always have a bottle of wine handy, if not more. This can be used for making a memorable meal, drowning a forgetful day, or just to make that Wednesday night a little more enjoyable. It’s especially useful if you’re having company over and were asked to submit that last minute report by end of day. Now you have one less thing to worry about, and a few more minutes to play with, while still looking smart and sophisticated. This is a $15 dollar emergency chute. There’s no reason not to have it.
Cheese. Yes, cheese. Always have some type of cheese in your fridge. It can be cheddar, parmesan, feta, whatever. It keeps longer than most ingredients, it makes almost any dish taste better, and it can be eaten on its own if you’re looking for something to go with that wine. Pair some brie with that pepper jelly your parents sent you, now all you need is a cracker and you’ve got an appetizer. Sprinkle some parmesan into a beaten egg and toss it into some pasta with bacon, now you’ve got a delicious carbonara dish. As long as you have cheese you have choices.
Dress for the job, that is, stay in your attire you wore to the office. Unless you’re planning on making something extremely saucy, or you’re just plain sloppy. Otherwise, save yourself a few minutes and cook in that button up. If you need to change before going back out on the town, do it once you have your kitchen running and things are cooking. This will save you a few minutes and keep you looking sharp in the process. Dress for success.
If you haven’t selected your favorite dishes yet, make your way to the Recipe page and select a couple that you like. These will always be at the top of your recipe list and make it ridiculously easy to cook something quick. The videos are always three minutes or less, but if you don’t even have time for that, the written instructions are always there for your coles notes. We have a ton of recipes that work in a pinch, but if you have your favorites lined up you’ll save yourself that much more time. You can thank us later.
It’s always great to have a few shortcuts in place in case you’re ever running a couple minutes late. In the event you need them, you look sharp. They also come in handy if the power goes out. Wine, oxfords, and cheese? Yes, please!
